While I was busy shopping at the market and pulling turkeys (yes, two) and other garden goods from the freezers, Harper and Papa got to work on a little tablescape project. A whole lot of birch candle holders - a 1.5" drill bit was just right for making a hole perfect for tea lights. Some winterberries and greens were gathered early this morning, plus there was a quick antiquing trip to pick up a few more matchy plates. I think we're ready for Thanksgiving! Oh but wait, but there's all the food to be made! I'm so excited to dive into some baking and prepping today. This is really one of my favorite days of the year - my favorite maybe? A celebration of gratitude and the harvest, and a gathering with friends. The same crew has been coming here for quite a few years now and we've got such a good groove going on of cooking and dancing, laughter and fun, and a whole lot of kids running around. And of course, an abundance of delicious food. So very much to be grateful for as we gather and celebrate each others' joys through the past year, and share our struggles too.
You, of course,I am so grateful for - as you come here to visit, share your thoughts and words, support the endeavors I bring here, and most of all, share your most precious resource of all with me - your time. I am an incredibly lucky and blessed to be on the receiving end of that. I wish you all a most lovely day tomorrow - whether you are gathering to celebrate with friends or family, working in service to others, or just having a regular Thursday if this holiday doesn't apply to you. Regardless, I wish you peace and joy. And I thank you, today and always!
(See you back here on Friday!)
