I know. There is a whole Monday that needs to happen. There is a teenager that needs to be driven to school right away. There is a dentist appointment. There is a dress rehearsal tonight and nordic ski practice and fiddle lessons too. There is laundry and there are dishes and a few meals or so to prepare and serve and then clean up from, and a whole lot of animals to be fed. And surely there will also be many moments of joy and peace and fun too. But can I just linger for a minute in the weekend? In this very moment, please? The one in which we had all spent the morning outside - playing soccer, feeding the animals and building a fire in the fire pit, on a rare and relatively warm early December day. And when I walked into the house after many hours out, I found these three just like this, only a few minutes ahead of me. Warming by the fire and reading a book. Yes, yes, yes. I said nothing, but grabbed my camera long enough for this quick snap, then quickly grabbed my knitting and sat beside them. And that is the very moment I'd like to hang onto if I could, as we start this Monday. That little moment is the one I'd very much like to hang onto through the whole week ahead, and the kind of moment I'd like to be certain that I look for in each day that follows.
Wishing you a beautiful start to your own week!
