As we've been getting closer to ski season (and now that there is snow at long last!), once in a while someone will ask Ani if she's going to join everyone on the slopes this year. "No!" she emphatically announces, "I'm going to make dresses!!!"
Papa recently cleaned out Ani's dresser and gave some astronomical count of dresses that I tried not to remember. Amazingly though, we think she actually wears them all, changing her clothes ten times a day as she does. Still, as the talk of dressmaking has increased, I attempted to shift her focus. Maybe we could make a quilt? Or some pants? Or dresses for her dolls? Nope. She's clear. Tuesdays are without a doubt for dresses, and dresses only.
And so....with Calvin delivered to school, and Steve and the kids bundled up and ushered out the door the to the mountain (so excited they all were - the first ski day of the year rivals Christmas morning for excited wake up times!), now Ani and I will get to work. I'll do my best to ignore the laundry and the dishes and the messy house, and instead, soak up this time with my still-little girl. Because, after all, Tuesdays are for dresses!!
