We are here! Sarah and I are tucked into the cottage, anxiously awaiting the arrival of our guests tomorrow for our Into the Woods Gathering. It's been a busy and full stretch of days since our own arrival. Full of all the preparation required of such a gathering - from pom pom making (but of course!) to trail marking to ice safety checks on the lake. We are doing all those things while also soaking up the beauty of this little corner of the world we both happily call home. And all that making and baking, and cooking and cleaning has been held together by the thread of our friendship. And I find myself - before we've even begun our gathering - full of gratitude for the blessing of working with friends. When we can share our passions, our energy, and our time together. And then in turn, share that energy with others. Oh such good things happen when women gather together in creativity, yes?
Tonight there is an arugula lasagna to make, a few cloth napkins to finish sewing, and just one more bed to make. Then, Sarah and I have promised ourselves one glass of wine in front of the fire. With nervous butterflies and positive intention we will surely greet tomorrow and the friends we have yet to meet who will arrive.
My time in this space might continue to be sparse while I fully dive into the days ahead. But I'll be sure to share more with you just as soon as I can. And in the meantime, I wish you peaceful happy days with those you love!
