OTTOBRE design® is a fabulous, inspiring, sewing and pattern magazine for creative people!
The company behind OTTOBRE design® is Studio Tuumat Oy – a bright and energetic design company from Finnish Lapland. We are located in Rovaniemi, a small town on the Arctic Circle. Lapland provides an inspiring and peaceful environment close to nature, which is ideal for creating fresh Scandinavian designs. In addition to the OTTOBRE design® kids and OTTOBRE design® woman magazines, we produce single patterns, small DIY kits and e-patterns and we have a lovely fabric and sewing supply shop on Etsy.
Our latest magazine is OTTOBRE design 2/2016, our spring/summer issue for women. We provide patterns for ladies in US sizes 6 - 24 (UK sizes 8 - 26 and EU sizes 34-52). Be inspired and create your favorite summer wardrobe !
A good garment is like a dear childhood friend: It’s comfortable, familiar, forgiving and dependable. So how does one come across a garment that becomes your bosom friend? Imagine the feeling of delight when you try an item on in the fitting room of a clothing store, zip it up and realize “this is it”! A perfect piece of clothing that fits like a glove without any alteration and makes you feel gorgeous! You can consider yourself lucky if you can find such items off the rail. I myself can’t, either I find something wrong with the garment – or, more often, with my body. But I’m happy to say that I’ve come very close to the perfect garment with some of my best tried-and-tested sewing patterns. ”.
Sewing your own clothes is the best way to ensure they fit your body and not some standardized, version of what a woman’s body “should” be. You can also sew exactly what you want to wear and are not limited by what the fashion industry thinks you should be wearing this season, or in these days of fast fashion, this week!

Everytime you offer an Ottobre giveaway, I hold my breath a few seconds while typing this comment in hopes that this time, THIS time, might be my lucky day. I actually taught myself to sew with my mom's old kid's Ottobres and would love some new issues.
