SouleMama: Since the last time you were featured on SouleMama, in what ways has your business grown or changed? Is there anything new you'd like to tell us about?
Kelly: The new Second Grade curriculum was just released a few weeks ago! I’m SO excited to get this project out into the world. This complete Waldorf-inspired curriculum is designed to give parents a huge amount of guidance and support. It includes fully planned out main lesson blocks, circle times, really in-depth information on how to teach, and more...all lovingly crafted and beautifully integrated.
I’m especially excited about the circle time! Pulling together all the pieces of a great circle can be such a time-consuming challenge for homeschool mamas. A circle in the grades includes singing and movement as well as speech and active math, all tied into the main lesson content. I was nervous about this part of the project, because I knew if I was going to make a circle I wanted it to be fun, imaginative, and developmentally-appropriate for second graders, and there just aren’t a lot of examples out there of what this could look like for this age group. But circle time was one of the top requests for this curriculum, so I went for it, and it turned out to be really fun to create! I can’t wait to hear how it goes for our second grade families this year. :)
