Have I ever posted on a Sunday night? I don't know as though I have! Funny how these familiar habits of sharing here are so strong. But oh, we are about to get a doozy! Or so they say. And so we find ourselves preparing for a little bit of time without power (hence, the Sunday night hello). As I tell the kids (hurry up, let's get laundry done! and Headlamp roundup, please! and oh, I have a magazine issue to send to print!), it could be a few hours or it could be a few days. You never know. Interestingly, the cancellations came flying in far before the snow came falling down today. And so, there will be no traveling anywhere for anything for the next couple of days - school, lessons, work, errands or otherwise.
Today was a full-on shuffling about, on the starting-to-be-icy roads, for hay and grain and groceries. But now, the animals are all properly tucked into their cozy spots (no minor feat, I'll tell you!). And after that task, I am SO ready to be tucked into my own cozy spot to wait this one out. You can be sure it will be by the fire with some yarn. Meanwhile, the kids are anxious and excited as all get out, and when the very first flurries started to (finally) fall earlier today, all six of them ran out the door for ski jump building and sled path making and the like. Annabel found the perfect costume - a gift from her grandmother from Christmastime, complete with a shrug which she is happy to demonstrate for you if you ask - and rightfully declared herself the princess of snow.
And with that, we're ready for whatever! Stay safe out there, everyone! And, dare I say, enjoy!!
