Well, that was an old fashioned giveaway! I didn't anticipate such a joyful response from you all. I'll pretend it's really all about the magazine and has nothing to do with the yarn. But oh I get it! This is yummy yarn! Thank you, Stone Wool! It, along with a two year subscription to Taproot is headed to this randomly chosen winner:
{I would love this gift. I often look at Taproot on the newsstand, but, alas, the price is prohibitive for me at this time in my life. The wool yarn is a wonderful added bonus. ~ Robin}
I am so very sorry that I could not swing 1,000 winners! You have all been incredibly supportive of this publishing adventure through subscribing (so that we can stay ad-free), shopping in our online store, or even just patiently listening while I talk about all things Taproot. Thank you for that. And while I can't give that many more magazines (and yarn) away....I can invite you to join me in some making from the pages!
I mentioned on Monday that WEAVE is our craftiest issue yet, and I wasn't kidding. All of the above - and even more - is in the Hands section of WEAVE. Call it winter inspiration/desperation during the planning stages of this issue. Or call it a response to all that's happening in the world, and the need to keep our hands busy and minds calm. Or call it listening to readers who have been asking for more, more, more of the food and craft we feature in the pages. For all of those reasons and more, this issue has it! So much making! And as such, it seems like a pretty great time for us to virtually gather to do some of that making together, don't you think? I'm thrilled to be hosting our first ever Taproot Makealong! You know the drill from knitalongs, surely....it's a simple thing. Except this isn't restricted to knitting - or even yarn - we encourage you to get crafty in all the ways that WEAVE inspires you! Make some bitters! Braid some bread! Plant some flowers! Weave some lavender! Make anything (make many things!) from the pages of WEAVE, share it with the hashtag #taprootmakealong on Instagram or Facebook, and we'll choose one winner by May 1st to give this fabulously crafty grand prize to......
Yeah, all of that, plus a one year subscription to Taproot!
I'm excited to see what you might make. And excited to plan my own making! There is that crochet scarf that I lingered over in the editing process, realizing happily that I actually understood the pattern (don't worry - a real crochet editor took a peek at the pattern too!).....but Easter is coming and those knit chickens could be a whole lot of fun for little hands. It's a good thing more cold weather and snow is predicted for the weekend (did I just say that?), because I've got plans.
