That's how the weekend went, from start to finish! Phew! What a full one it was! On Saturday morning, we had a spot cleared in the woods and by last night as the sun was setting, a nearly complete, perfectly level circle in the woods (minus the three or so boards that we were short). We had so many helping hands - big and little - as the kids wove in and out of work (and found projects on their own nearby shelters in various states of completion), and as my parents pitched in to help, and Steve worked all the way through Father's Day.
The platform is built according to plans by the yurt maker, Two Girls Yurts, who will be coming later in the week for the actual yurt raising - a big day that's been on the calendar for months now. But first! We have that floor to finish, some stairs to make, and a window to procure. It's a race to the finish, this one, but it seems we work best with a deadline, and everyone is so excited about the final results of this one. Most especially, I am sure, Andy who is ready to rest her head under those stars for a few seasons!
