Well, if by the shore for my birthday last week was dreamy and idyllic, I dare say that Adelaide took the cake with her twelve year old birthday slumber party location! Our summer guest has moved out and onto other adventures and now the yurt is in transition to its next purpose. Oh, I do love this space. Though just a few hundred feet from the house, it really does feel like a whole other place, tucked into the edge of the woods as it is. There's no electricity yet. And we have such terrible cell reception at our house, that it doesn't come in at all by the yurt. Bliss. It's a quiet place, and the energy of that circle really is something special - I find the kids wandering back there often, and just sitting or reading. Ah! I am fantasizing about lugging my spinning wheel out there soon. I don't know what's stopping me.
But before all that, there was a twelve year old slumber party for my girl. We decked it out as best we could in flowers and twinkly lights, down comforters and pillows. And well, I hardly saw the five of those girls, excepting for food requests! Easiest sleepover ever, and most definitely not the last that will be had out there!
