Sometimes postcards arrive a little bit later than expected, right? I think so. This month has been such a flurry already, with more travel ahead, and I find myself slightly dizzy from it all. Inevitably though there are a few things that ground me and slow it all down. Planting my feet firmly in my kitchen and making meals helps my breathing slow. And looking at the photographs on my camera card helps me to pause and remember. Today, I'm remembering my visit to Pittsburgh's Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens just last week. I seem to have accidentally but happily stumbled upon a tradition when I travel of visiting someplace GREEN before entering an airport and boarding a plane home. It's a great tradition and just the thing needed to take that deep breath at the end of a busy trip and before the stuffy air of airports and planes. Thanks to some wonderful recommendations, we landed at Phipps and I couldn't be more grateful. What a treasure of a place it is! Currently, a stunning glass art exhibit by Jason Gamrath is showing, which is such a delightful reflection of the natural beauty that fills Phipps! Oh to go back to that butterfly garden and bring my kiddos, they'd love it so. Someday again....
