Greetings from snowy Boulder, Colorado! Oh the snow! I was not expecting that! This trip, I have to tell you has been full of surprises, starting before I left, when I discovered no ubers or taxis available at the hour I needed to get to the airport. Oops! I feel like I've been running ever since that moment on early early Friday morning. Then there was a failed Airbnb experience, followed by the valet at my hotel losing my rental car keys (they never did find them, which turned into a whole day affair that really still isn't over yet and will be weeks of claims reports and paperwork). Oh my goodness, travel woes!
But you know, I don't know as though I've ever met such nice people! It's impossible to get grouchy about such bumps when everyone I've interacted with has just been so kind. Right across the board to the poor valet (really, can you imagine? Poor guy!). And then there are those of you who are came out to say hello at Horseshoe Market and made me cry with your kindness and sweet words. Truly. It is such a pleasure to have faces and personalities and actual people that I know are on the receiving end of all of this. So grateful.
My parents are on a cross country trip for a few months and very graciously detoured for a couple of days to help me out in the booth. I can't tell you how sweet that was - my father, ever the politician (he was mayor for several terms) is my best salesperson. And my Mom is worse than I am about loving other people's babies...and also sharing 'stories' about me with anyone who will listen. Thanks to those of you who were patiently on the receiving end of my proud parents.
Next up, some book events! Tonight I'll be at Fabricate with The Makerie for an open craft night. I do hope some of you will brave the weather to say hello! I'm looking forward to it....
