Made for kids who love mixing up magic, PotionKit collects beautiful potion making supplies and ingredients together into secret-compartment book boxes. Spices, oils and minerals are transformed into cosmically and mythological inspired magical potions, all bundled together as an unforgettable gift.
Since the last time you were featured on SouleMama, in what ways has your business grown or changed? Is there anything new you'd like to tell us about?
Rachel: The big deal around here is that I left my full-time “grown-up job” to stay home with my family and focus on Potion Kit full-time just last week! It’s a gigantic leap of faith for us but it feels so right. This decision took a long time, but ultimately it felt like so many things at home were calling me back. My children are rapidly getting older, the garden needs tending, and there is meaningful, heartfelt work waiting to be done.
So now I am pouring everything (literally!) I can into preparing for this upcoming Holiday season. There are all new book styles, new potion themes and most importantly (according to kids) more potion recipes and ingredients. All told there will be 6 new styles of books and 6 new complete sets of potions and recipes. There will be more small sizes and monthly refill subscriptions. In the meantime, there is a limited amount of kits available on the site for the rest of this Fall.
When I get stressed and it starts to feel overwhelming (who leaves behind an empowering career and wonderful teammates to make potions?) I go through my emails and my heart bursts with happiness:

Right now I am researching deep into historical magical lore, herbalism and traditional folk magic for writing this holiday’s potion recipes. Last year we could hardly keep up with orders so this year we will be taking pre-orders starting on Halloween for Christmas delivery. This has to be the most magical gift ever for a child! I started following on IG so I can make sure to pick up a few for the upcoming holiday season. Heck, I want one of these for myself, too! Since most of my grandbabies live a few hours drive away from me, I would love a potion for Gramma's love. Maybe one for Yule Blessings to use on Yule? Or to celebrate any special occasion.
