Greetings from Alewives Fabrics!
Alewives Fabrics is located in a big red barn in Midcoast Maine. We were established in 1975 and for the past 13 years have been owned and operated by the mother/daughter team of Barbara Neeson and Rhea Butler. Alewives carries an eclectic, contemporary mix of fabrics. We focus primarily on quilting weight cotton, but we also offer linen/cotton blends, lawn, voile, vinyl laminate, chambray, home decorator weight, rayon, jersey and more. Alewives is also a flagship store for Quince&Co yarn, and we have a special focus on English paper-piecing supplies.
Alewives Fabrics is on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
SouleMama: Since the last time you were featured on SouleMama, in what ways has your business grown or changed? Is there anything new you'd like to tell us about?
Rhea: There haven't been many changes at all! We had a wonderful fall with a visit from one of our favorite fabric designers, Anna Maria Horner, and then just a few days ago we were hit (along with most of the state) by a severe windstorm that left us without power or internet for five days. Other than that, we are still the same old Alewives! New fabrics keep coming in all the time and we are gearing up for a busy holiday season here in our brick and mortar shop. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers (both near and far) who were so patient with us during the power outage. Your kindness and support during that time meant so much to us!
This weekend, Alewives Fabrics is generously offering the following gifts to ONE lucky SouleMama reader:
