Alewives Fabrics was established in 1978 and since September of 2004 has been owned and operated by the mother/daughter team of Barbara Neeson and Rhea Butler. We are located in a big red barn in beautiful Midcoast Maine where the floors creak with every step you take and the if the walls could talk we’re sure they would have some great stories to tell. Our online store, alewivesfabrics.com has been in operation since 2006 and sending fabric to all corners of the globe ever since!

Since the last time you were featured on SouleMama, in what ways has your business grown or changed? Is there anything new you'd like to tell us about?
Rhea: Alewives will be heading on the road this winter! We will be vendors at QuiltCon East in February 2019 in Nashville, Tennessee. We’ll have a large booth full of all our best merchandise, including lots of English paper piecing kits and tons of gorgeous fabric by the yard. If you’ll be in the area or you're planning on attending QuiltCon, we can’t wait to see you there!
